Ecce Homines

ita_La Settimana Santa è uno degli eventi più sentiti nella città di Francavilla Fontana (Br).
Si parla spesso di folclore ma, “Ecce Homines” è il racconto della devozione popolare che si vive con grande fede e tradizione il giorno del Venerdì Santo. Confratelli, consorelle, penitenti, che attraverso la grande fede, le preghiere, il preparare ogni cosa con minuziosa scrupolosità, vivono questo giorno con grande silenzio e devozione.
La fatica, l’andare contro le intemperie, il camminare scalzi e portare in spalla una pesante croce è un modo per espiare i propri peccati e condividere la croce di Cristo: “ecco gli uomini!”

Brothers, sisters, penitents, who through great faith and prayers, prepare everything with painstaking thoroughness and live to this day with great silence and devotion.
Fatigue, going against the weather, walking barefoot and carry on their shoulders a heavy cross is a way to atone for their sins, and share the cross of Christ: “behold, the men!”
